Today my family and I were waiting to cross the way, when I heard a big noisy bastard approaching.

My wife led the charge, followed by our crowd of chicks running after her, and me some distance behind to grab any stragglers.
The big ugly bastard didn't seem to slow down one bit, but I kept to the ground and managed to cross his path a mere moment before he would have trampled me.
